The Spring 2025 Vibe: Soft and Comfortable
No matter your aesthetic, we’re getting into the styling basics for the season.
Starting off with:
Colors
Classic prints like leopard, croc, and tiger are still in, but stripes are back, baby.Pinstripes usually come and go, but this season, there's a surge in wider stripe patterns too. Pairing stripes with colors like butter yellow and soft blue will make you feel right at home this spring. These prints and colors can all be mixed and matched throughout any piece—whether it’s clothing, shoes, or accessories.
Tops
Keeping it classic with the easy day-to-night switch, leading the top category are loose button-ups. Everyone has one in their closet because of the versatility and timelessness; no matter the color, they can be styled with spring pieces. They never really left but are still worth mentioning: cardigans. With the sunshine and breeze of spring, cardigans are one of my favorite layering pieces to stay comfortable. They’d be perfect in the 2025 color palette mentioned above.
Bottoms
Making the ultimate comeback I never thought I'd see: parachute pants. I was so quick to pull my pair out of the donate bag—the ones I secretly didn’t want to part with yet. It also made me reminisce about the paper bag pants I donated a few years back and further justified my distaste for parting with my clothes. It really does seem like all things eventually make their way back around.Besides pants, keeping it easy with slip-on styles like maxi skirts is my go-to for staying stylish and comfortable.
Shoes
The rise in comfort spans all categories, and we’re seeing all the flat shoes: ballet flats, loafers, and sneakers. To be specific, loafers with crew socks and Adidas sneakers are the hottest hits for both men and women. The newest addition to my closet is Puma’s updated version of a ballet flat; while still being comfortable, I find them super cute!
Accessories
Big bags are back! I’ve seen so many boat-style bags around—they're so cute for a picnic, a walk on the beach, or grabbing a quick coffee.Gold? Silver? Who said we had to pick just one? Mixing all your different types of metal jewelry can be so chic. Even my favorite pair of earrings features bronze, silver, and gold tones all intertwined. I've always loved mixed-metal jewelry styles—color analysis says I look best in gold, but my heart says silver.Bad hair days? Baseball-style hats are making a comeback and are perfect for hiding in-between wash-day hair. The great thing about all these accessories is that they are bound to look good paired together and with any of the spring pieces mentioned above.
To conclude:
The natural state of spring welcomes soft colors, materials, silhouettes, and an overall feeling of comfort. It’s also a reminder of the unexpected and a time for change—so experimentation in fashion feels even more approachable and worth exploring.
